How does harakeke grow?

Harakeke is a herbaceous plant, meaning its growth form is soft, not woody. The robust, sword-like leaves are arranged in two adjoining sets around the growing point (rito) to form a fan. A unique feature of harakeke and related plants is that the lower third or so of each leaf is folded together along its midrib or keel. This creates a stiff, heavy butt.

How long does it take harakeke for it to grow?

It could take harakeke 5 to 6 years to grow and if you cut the baby and the parents that are in the middle of harakeke then it will take about 7 to 8 years.you can only take the granparents that are hanging on the side of the harakeke plant.

How to harvest harakeke?
when you cut harakeke you cut it at the end but dont cut it from the top you have to cut on the side.

Air pollution.air polution is some thing that come from fire and other machine
from stores.

The world  is getting worst and worst because of cars,stores,fire,
mostly every one is getting
sick just because
of the polution that fly's around the world.
air puts you at a higher risk for asthma and other respiratory diseases,
High levels of particle
polution have been associated with higher incidents of heart problems.

Pollution is killing  people and the sea animals people need to help and take
care of earth by
picking up
the rubbish they see and the rubbish that in the water,the more polution the
faster were
gonna die but if we take care of the world then this wont happen that's why
we need to
start picking up the
rubbish and never chuck rubbish on the floor.

When you chuck rubbish on the floor it travels into the sea and when a sea animal
sees it it might think its food and when they eat it it gets stuck in there
throat and then they
cant breath and then they die but
this wont happen if they throw rubbish on the floor people think there
not gonna die but if its happening to other then
its gonna do it to
you.

Polution is a bad thing because 70,000 people die just because of polution each year.

People are trying the best to pick up rubbish but more just keep on coming because of people,
they are contaminating the world and if it carry’s on then half of the world will drown.

Polution breaks the ice then the ice travels across the world then stops at a place the melts

all blacks have been the best rugby players since 1987 and have been winning mostly all there gamesbut now they put in young people and its rugby world cup now so they need to g hard.

Term 1 reflections

                                        

At the beginning of the year I met lots of new people and I made lots of new friends with them. I was in room 7 and my teacher was Mrs Tofa she is really cool because she helps us learn while having fun , and she’s really funny. At the start of the year we had to be the role models of the school and had to leaders of the school.

At the beginning of the year I really enjoyed swimming because it can help me to get good at swimming if I drown or can't swim in the sea. What we learned was the backstroke , freestyle, breathing test, and other things. I look forward to having swimming next year.

Every Monday or Tuesday we had a programmer called kiwi. Kiwi can helps us learn about respect, positive communication, positive relationship, and friendship while having fun too. We do fun games like invisible touch, dodge ball, link tag and hand soccer.

We also did sport programmes called kiwisport. The sports were tennis and turbo touch. It was at tennis cause we did ralleys and tournament, for the last day it was fun because everyone was in the tournament and we were just having ralleys and having fun. Turbo touch was really awesome because we were in our house groups and we had to verse each other.

In this term we also had clubs. The clubs were Dance club , Drama club , art club and Music club. Everybody chose dance or drama club. In dance club you get to do freestyle dances and learn new moves. And watch other people dance. In drama club you learn how act and do plays and make up your own play. In the art club you learn how to draw , paint or do abstract art. In music club you learn how to play new instruments and sing with your friends.

reflection

how i felt teaching rm 9 it was good because they all focused on what we were teaching them they didn't talking when we were they didn't play because Mathew told them that they were going to do a kahoot so they just wanted to play it right know but we had to talk about the brain before we did the kahoot.

we told them three paragraph about what we learnt then we played the kahoot i was helping jodacie sister do the kahoot because she couldn't do it but unless she tried and came into the group.

what i learnt in technology

what i learnt in technology is robotic but we haven't done it yet we are doing what our future would look like when we grow up and has our job been invented yet.

but for now we are working on key words because Mr Daniel wants us to blog .

what we do in Mr Daniel class is what kind of jobs do u want to do when you grow up what i picked is air force,construction worker,engineer but i want to be a rugby player.

 

PWC PRICE WATER HOUSE COOPER

Today pwc came to glenbrae school and what pwc stand for is price water
house coopers,they came to
glenbrae school to talk about there new book that they made and there
names are Charlotte , lee ,
Courtney, venice, breane they all came in to talk to us about toitoi.

They were just talking to us about the new toitoi book that they made so they
can take us out to go read
the book in a group our teacher miss tofa picked our group for us then we had
to go outside and one
person had to choose there page that we wanted to read.

During the toitoi book narrow escape there was a bear that was trying to get
someone
but the man
that was on the helicopter was going to get her.

we were reading about five or six pages that were so interesting to about.

i loved the grief because it was talking about her dad that past away and she realy
wanted to kiss
him for once.

my holiday down in tauranga

On the holiday me and my family went to tauranga to visit my Nan and my papa Anton we had like a 1 hour and 30 minutes drive just to get to tauranga we did't want to go because my uncle was going to be home by his self but he told us that it was aright to go.

then when we got to tauranga we had to go say hi to all the whanua that was siting under the shade by the garage when we said hi we had to go set up the new big tents we got but my sisters did't have to help because they did't know what they are doing but they are so lucky they got to eat ice cream while i was setting up the tent.

after that i went to my cousin's house down in oxford 12 street were we use to live way before i went to glenbrae school when he saw me he's like you have been grown sun thankyou.

then after that i had something to eat before i went to sleep.

The haunted house

One night i went in to this house and know one was living there so i went to go look in the house and when i turned some one ran past me but i did'nt see who it was so i ran and went back out of the house and came back the day after but i was so scared because i thought that he was a demon person that was trying to scare people who came in and they did because it was me who they scared.

after that i went into the house and went through the hall way and i saw someone standing in the middle and i screamed as loud as i could but no one heard but the man who was standing in the was chasing after me then i went into this room and locked it then when i saw the window i jumped out and i did'nt  come back again

Life Education caravan

 On Tuesday the Life Education caravan came to glenbrae school to teach us about the things we worried about when were older.

when we got in the life caravan Nicole fonua was working for Life Education.Nicole talked about puberty it means the changes in our body has changed if your meme is yellow you have to drink more water because its taking the water from your brain and you will get a saw head.

Digital ignition

today we had Digital ignition with Garry from Digital ignition he told how to program a robot to say in binary and to move to other placers.some robots are dome but if you program it right it will work.when you program it ,it will copy what you want it to do.

we watched a video about dome robots that can't do anything right the rubbish truck crushed the bin when he went to go pick up the bin the hole thing was crushed.my favourite video was when the the little robot went to go get a score he fail because he fall over.

the coolest thing was that you can play a game to program and to make it go faster.m

Glow in the dark with miss tofa

yesterday we did glow in the dark with miss tofa. first we did  was we got a cup filled it up with water then we got a high lighter and we put in the cup then it changed to a green colour.then miss card taped her phone 2x then coloured it purple.after that we went into a dark room then miss card shined a light at saia group when in miss tofa said is it glowing then they said yes.then when we got back from the dark room we had to right about glow in the dark with mrs tofa but we watched the another video about to make glowing in the dark.

Barba Shop

Yesterday I, my brother and my uncle went to the Barbar shop to get a haircut. Both I and my brother got box hair cut. I was woken up by my uncle to go to the Barbar shop because even he wanted to have one.

I am so happy to have had the haircut because my hair is not long any more. After we went home we all played fortnite video game. After that we all mowed the lawn but it was tiring because our lawn is too big.

Later we baked a chocolate fudge cake for my sister's birthday.  My nan got her the pink shoes because that is my sister's favourite colour. I had a wonderful time with my family.
